Patricia G. Novakov November 28, 2015

Patricia Gertrude Walters Novakov, adoring and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was born on November 21, 1929 and passed away peacefully on November 20, 2015. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Dan and his wife Lydia of Dallas, Texas; Tony of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Marty and his wife Claire of Cincinnati, Ohio; her six grandchildren, Isabell and Daniel and his wife Sarah of Dallas, Texas; Joe of Columbus, Ohio; Michael of Columbus, Ohio; and Stephanie of Eagle, Colorado; and Connor and Justin of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her two great grandchildren, Marilyn Rose and Isabella Jane of Dallas, Texas. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Albert Walters and Anna Douthitt Walters and her aunt and uncle, Leonard and Gertrude Walters, who raised her.

Pat’s life was devoted to her children and her dream was for each one to earn a college degree. This dream became a reality with Dan’s graduation from the University of Notre Dame in 1972, Tony’s graduation from Notre Dame in 1976, and Marty’s graduation from Creighton University in 1988 and amazingly Pat earned her GED/High School Diploma at the age of 68.

Pat was an avid fan of Moeller High School, and the University of Notre Dame football where her sons, Dan and Tony, and grandson, Daniel played, and Elder High School and Creighton baseball where her son, Marty pitched.

At Diversicare St. Theresa, Pat looked forward to frequent field trips to the Cincinnati Zoo, Reds games and movies. She was a regular at bingo and the many activities with her dear friends who lived with her. She enjoyed singing in the St. Theresa choir as well as serving as an officer on the St. Theresa Residence Committee.

A visitation for friends and family will be held at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home 5950 Kellogg Avenue, Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Diversicare St. Theresa Chapel, on Friday, December 4 at 9:30am by Father Thomas Axe. Thank you to Pat’s doctors, caregivers, staff and good friends at St. Theresa, who enriched her life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Diversicare St. Theresa, directed to the Resident Activity Fund in care of Rosie Eagle, 7010 Rowan Hill Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227, (513) 271 7010.
