Walter Tharp, 92, of Otterbein Retirement Community in Lebanon, OH passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016. He has joined his son Steven Allen Tharp in Heaven. Walter leaves behind his wife of almost 68 years Cora Tharp. He will be dearly missed by his son James Earl (Denise) Tharp along with his grandchildren; Jennifer Jean (Gregory) Kessler and Katherine Irene (Gregory) Nowicki and great grandchildren; Emilie Rose Kessler and Ella Jean, Andrew Robert Nowicki. Walter was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Pacific during WWII. He was a lifetime parishioner of Ft. Thomas Christian Church. To continue his legacy of being a Syrian Shrine Chanter please make memorial donations to the Cincinnati Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 in lieu of flowers. Military burial will take place on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11 am at the Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery.
