SCHERTLER
Irene R, 94 of Ft. Thomas (formerly of Newport) passed away July 14th at St. Elizabeth Hospice. Irene is preceded in death by her husband of over 49 years Raymond Schertler. Survived by her sons Stephen, Kenneth, Raymond and Richard Schertler, daughters Carolyn (Mike) Mowery, Edith (Ted) Wolfe, Elaine (Nick) Terhaar, Diane Carter, Mary Beth (Gary) Barnes, Theresa (Rick) Peters and Jennifer (Brian) Zawacki, 24 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She loved to play dominos and scrabble. She was an inventive cook, loved her family and was a breast cancer survivor. She loved the Reds and enjoyed supporting her children in their sporting events. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr, Edgewood, KY 41017. Visitation will be held Tues, July 18 from 4-7pm at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wed, July 19 at 10am at Holy Spirit Parish. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
