John J. Austin of Cincinnati passed away on Tuesday August 5^th, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born November 7, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Jim and Evelyn (nee Gray) Austin. Jack, as he was known, attended Bridgetown High School. Jack joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 where he proudly served his country for four years. He married Carol N. Moses on December 18, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jack and Carol Austin were married for nearly 60 years until she passed away on September 4^th, 2024. Jack worked most of his life as a salesman because he never knew a stranger. Jack was the kind of person that would drop whatever he was doing to help family and friends. Carol used to say, “He’s going on a mission.” Jack is survived by his brother Steve (Karen) Austin, daughter Rebecca (nee Austin) (Greg) Jilek, son Michael (April) Austin and grandchildren Brandon Austin, Amanda (nee Austin) (Taylor) McDaniel, Logan Jilek, Luke Jilek, Eli Jilek, nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Carol Austin (nee Moses) Bob Moses (Roxanne) and her sister Emma (nee Moses) (Bob) Geiser. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30pm followed by a 2:30pm service at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church 7515 Forest Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45255.
