Larry Wayne Miller of Cincinnati, OH was called to be with the Lord on August 9, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born May 18, 1948 to the late Melvin and Alanie Miller.
Larry was a fighter from the start; born several weeks early and weighing in at 3 lbs, he spent the first few weeks of his life in the hospital. He loved to tell everyone he fit in the palm of his dad’s hand. Pinning his t-shirt to the pillowcase so they didn’t lose him.
He grew up in a loving Christian home of 8 children. He was proceeded in death by his brother Donnie Miller, sisters Linda (Alex) Gsoell, Debbie Lynn (Tim) Warrington, and sister-in-law Angela Miller. He is survived by his sisters Cindy (Kenny) Cooper, Sue (Elmer) Payne, Gloria (Daryl) Wainscott, brother Jesse Miller (Tabitha Buell) and sister-in-law Char Miller. He loved to tell stories of how his sisters always picked on him and got him in trouble.
He attended Hughes High School. Going on to join the Navy at 18 years old. He would spend time on the USS Forrestal and become the Proud Veteran he was.
He met and married Patricia Miller (nee. Walker). Spending the next 52 years of his life with her. They had 2 sons, Larry (Becky) Miller II and Jason (Jennifer) Miller.
His work years involved truck driving, security work and a long career in maintenance for Mercy Hospital. He didn’t know a stranger and was lovingly referred to as Mayor Miller at work.
Hunting, fishing, and gardening were just a few of his passions. At least until the grandkids came along. Tyson Miller, Brody Miller, Maria Taylor, and Nina Miller.
Most of all, he loved God; spending Sundays watching Jimmy Swaggart and listening to the Gaithers. Larry loved when his siblings got together and sang old gospel songs.
Larry’s passing has left an enormous hole in the lives of those who love him, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family and friends; but his legacy of love, service, and faith will carry on in the many lives he touched.
A memorial gathering honoring and celebrating Larry’s life will be held at True Point Church, 2719 Norwood Ave, Norwood, OH 45212 on Friday, August 15,2025. Visitation will be 10-12, followed immediately by a service.
