James “Jim” N. Okura January 14, 1963 - July 4, 2025

James “Jim” N. Okura, age 63, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Christ Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1963, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank M. Okura and Mary J. Combs. Jim married Aileen Rivera on June 4, 2000, in Southgate, Kentucky. He worked at Duke Energy for over 30 years, before retiring in 2021. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed adventures and vacations with his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force. Jim is survived by his wife Aileen, daughters Dolly and Yuki, grandchildren Fernando, Edan, and Abby, mother Mary Joan, brothers William, Don, Michael and Greg, and sister Theresa. A gathering will be held to share our memories and celebrate his life on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1:00pm until time of service at 3:00pm at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, 822 York St., Newport, Kentucky 41071. Military honors will immediately follow the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), at heroes.vfw.org.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. Jimmy was a good person. He was always happy. He always had jokes. He was good with his girls. You guys did wonderful vacations together as a family. You have wonderful grandkids Jimmy always made sure everyone was happy. He always made sure that He could do as much as he could. Do 2 make everyone happy in his family? He will be missed so much.
