Patrick James McHale

Patrick James McHale March 7, 1934 - January 13, 2026

Patrick James McHale, age 91, of Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Though his time on earth has ended, his spirit, wisdom, and kindness will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
Born on March 7, 1934, in Norwood, OH, Patrick was the cherished son of Edward and Loretta McHale. Losing his father at the age of 3, he grew up in a single-family household where he learned the values of hard work, integrity and faith that he carried throughout his life.
Patrick proudly joined the United States Navy in 1953, where he spent 4 years in Guam as a Cryptanalyst. After his time in the military, he began working for the Cincinnati Enquirer, where he met his soon-to-be wife of 62 years, Geraldine Richardson. Patrick worked most of his career in sales, retiring at the age of 70 to enjoy his golden years with his wife.
As a father, he led by example, teaching his children the importance of family, integrity and giving back. He did this not through words alone, but through the way he lived each day.
Patrick found joy in the time he spent in his amateur acting career, doing such shows as On Golden Pond, Little Shop of Horrors and the Angel Follies, to name a few. He also made appearances in multiple local television commercials. Patrick was extremely proud of his volunteer work at Hospice of Cincinnati, where he volunteered every Saturday for 40 years. Patrick lived with a generosity of spirit that left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Patrick is survived by his children, Debbie Dosier, Wendy McHale, Christina and Art Helton, Terri and Jerry Raymond, Pat and Lori McHale, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Loretta McHale, his siblings, Tom McHale, Ed McHale and Kay Moormann, his wife Geri, and his son Michael McHale, who now welcome him home.
Visitation will be held at Guardian Angels Church at 6531 Beechmont Ave. on January 30, 2026, beginning at 9:30am with Mass immediately following at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
