Amos Brandenburg, Jr. January 27, 1932 - December 21, 2020

Amos Brandenburg, Jr, 88 of Newport, KY passed away peacefully at his home on December 21, 2020. Born in Hazard, KY on January 27, 1932, Amos’s family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he eventually met the love of his life, Loretta and united in marriage on March 5, 1949. With love and dedication, they raised 12 children, 10 girls and 2 boys. He was a dedicated hard worker where he eventually retired from Cincinnati Steel Company. All his life Amos loved to go hunting and fishing with his friends, sons and grandsons. Amos picked up the hobby of CB and Ham radios and found some great friends. When anyone would stop by Amos was in his big brown chair, watching cowboy westerns and had a fresh chew of Mail Pouch tobacco in his mouth.  Amos is survived by his children Debbie Bischoff, Janet Dooley, Steve Brandenburg, Sandy Brandenburg, Kim Guffey, Terry Tallon, Cathy Cooper, Pam Walker, Julie Roderick, Donna Kuntz and Amy Winstel, 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Loretta Brandenburg and son Billy Ray Brandenburg, brothers Billy and Ardell Brandenburg and sister Della Mae Brandenburg. Amos was so proud that he and Loretta were able to start this loving, hardworking family. Visitation will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 from 5-8pm at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, 822 York St, Newport, KY. Services will be held Tuesday, December 29 at 10am the funeral home with burial to follow at Alexandria Cemetery.
