GRINDSTAFF
Blanca N (nee Thomas), 72 passed away Sept 14 at her home in Taylor Mill. She was born Aug 5, 1941 in Puerto Rico. In May 2010 she retired after a 30 year career in nursing. Blanca was a graduate of the N. KY Vocational School LPN program, Cinti State and the Bethesda School of Nursing RN program. She worked at Deaconess Hospital Cinti, Woodspoint Florence and Rosedale Manor Latonia. Her hobbies were reading collecting teapots and watching pro football. Her favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Proceeded by her parents Mark J. Thomas, Sr and Ramona Thomas, brothers Mark J Thomas Jr and James E. Thomas, daughters Melinda and Melissa Maloney. Survived by 5 wonderful and loving children, Cindy (Jim) Swafford, Pam Maloney, Sandy Maloney, Mike (Julie) Grindstaff and Chris (Shannon) Grindstaff, dear sister-in-law Mary Jane Thomas, loyal companion, her dog Max, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sat, Sept 21 from 10am until time of service at 12 noon at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport.
