Charles R. Smitson (Rick), 66, passed away at home on October 13, 2023. He was born on December 30,1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles (Walt) and Zella Smitson. Rick attended Withrow High School and graduated in 1975. He married Diane on November 23, 2007 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked at Queen City Forging for 31 years before retiring in 2020. In Rick’s spare time he enjoyed playing cards, riding his Harley, and fishing. He was a member of the Oakley Congregation Kingdom Hall. He is survived by his wife Diane, his children Charles Ricky Smitson Jr. (Jessica) and Rachel Rene Smitson (Troy), step-children, David Mattox (Heather), Derrick Mattox (Sandy), sister Debbie Johnson, brother-in-law Harlan (Lee) Geier, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his father, mother and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of their choice.
