Jack R. Hunt September 14, 1947 - January 28, 2018

Jack R Hunt, 70 of Wilder went to his eternal home on January 28, 2018. A heart recipient, Jack lived each day in joy. He was always ready to help the UCMC Auxiliary as a volunteer and board member. He donated time to Change of Heart Support Group and was eager to tell his transplant story. He also volunteered many hours with “Kyles Heart” in honor of his donor and donor family. As an Air Force Vietnam Veteran he was proud to be a member of the American Legion, and had great respect for all branches of the military. He always teased about the picture that “got away” when he served on the helicopter camera crew. Jack was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, Newport where he served faithfully as an usher and member of the Young Men’s Bible Class. He is preceded in death by his father Cecil Hunt, mother Wilma (Rickles) Hunt and sister Phyllis Myers. Jack is survived by his loving wife Diane (Vater) Hunt, his daughters Robin Cartrite and Jodi Gatlin, sisters Karen Riley, Beverly (Eric) Brab and brother Thom (Sherri) Hunt, loving relatives and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service at 12 noon, Friday, Feb 2, 2018 at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY.
