James A. Deaton, 82, of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, passed away July 18th, 2023, in St. Elizabeth Hospices, Edgewood, Ky. He was a retired manager at Alger Tool and Die Co. James was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and most of all he loved his Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. He is preceded in death by his late wife Terrie Dona Deaton, son Rick Deaton (Becky) and grandson William (Billy) Deaton. James is survived by seven children, Criss Mahan (Danny), Scot, Marty (Roberta), Nikie Teeters (Kelly), Mickey (Sissy), Terrance, and Jamie. Sister Nevada Gosser (late Buck), brother, Ronald Deaton (Ana) and sister-in-law Tina Mason (late Kip). 19 Grandchildren, 35 Great- Children and 1 Great Great -Grandchild. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 11am until 1pm at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home-Newport. Funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Elizabeth Hospices Edgewood, Kentucky.
