James “Jim” L. Rafferty March 7, 1946 - February 19, 2020

Rafferty, James “Jim” L. passed away on Wednesday, February 19th 2020.  Jim resided in Anderson Township for the majority of his life.  He was employed at CCL Label in Cold Spring, KY for 36 years. Jim is preceded in death by his parents William Lawrence & Mildred Rafferty.  He was a devoted husband to Diane Rafferty for nearly 49 years.  Jim was a proud father to his son Timothy Rafferty, and daughter Lisa Rafferty. Jims birthday 03/07/1946

Tim’s wife is Christine, whom they have 3 sons, Aiden, Finn and Greyson Rafferty.  Lisa’s husband is Meir Halfon.

Brother to William (Bill) Rafferty, married to Mary Rafferty.  Jim was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

His in-laws and extended families include Ron and Beth Shelander (Erin and Katie). The late Sandy and Phil Glavey (Brian and Faith). Greg Shelander (Sam).  Carolyn and Jonathan Adee (Nick and Emilie Faust). Jackie and Doug Veach.  Angie Bitner. Bea York. He is survived by many friends, family and co-workers.

Jim graduated from Central High School, Cincinnati, in 1964. He graduated with honors and a mechanics certification.

Jim was an Army Veteran, (1965-1967) and proud to have served his country. He received honorable merits for sharp shooting and mechanics. He completed a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1967.

He enjoyed bike rides on the local nature trails in Newtown, Ohio.  He loved trains and cars. Jim enjoyed being out in nature and gardening. He was self-taught in building computers.  Jim was well skilled with home improvements.  He also loved Lisa’s Pomeranian, Cindy; she was his best friend and looked forward to seeing her after a long day at work.

Evening memorial March 9th, 5:00-7:00 pm, at Fares Radel Funeral home 5950 Kellogg Ave. Cincinnati, Ohio 45228. Military Honors will be rendered at 7:00 pm
