Jane Laura Londner of Batavia, Ohio passed away July 16, 2026 after a long illness. She was 80 years old. Jane was born on April 10, 1946 in Bronx, New York to Seymour and Dorothy Londner. She was the second of their three daughters. Her childhood and early adult years were spent in Queens in Little Neck, New York.

She received her BA in Art and Education at SUNY-New Paltz, and a Master’s Degree from Adelphi University in Long Island, New York.

From the late 1960s to the early 1990s, Jane lived in Manhattan, climbing the career ladder in sales and insurance. She lived a glamorous big-city life, dining at exclusive restaurants and shopping at the finest stores. In her 40s, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to be closer to her parents and sisters.

Jane reengaged with her love of teaching and taught art at Scott High School, Kentucky prior to her many years as an art teacher at Bethel-Tate High School, Ohio until her retirement. She encouraged her students to feed their creativity and to strive for greatness in high school and beyond. Jane was creative, artistic, organized, sarcastic, strong-willed, cat lover, keen visual observer and extremely intelligent. She loved to paint and engage in various art forms, design and craft beaded jewelry, travel, and collect interesting objects. Her favorite activity was to shop and had an “eye” for fashion and finding bargains. Jane closely followed the financial market and had a good head for business. Throughout her life, she cherished her New York friends and their long phone conversations.

Jane had a wry sense of humor (often introducing herself as the “pretty sister” or “Jane the Brain”). Her no-nonsense New York manner meant she could size people up quickly and would let them know exactly where they stood with her.

She is survived by her younger sister, Linda Londner, of Batavia, Ohio and two nieces: Rachel (Lenz) Smiley of Eagle, Colorado and Jennifer Rosen Heinz of Menlo Park, California. She was predeceased by her parents, Seymour and Dorothy Londner, and her older sister, Sandra (Londner) Rosen.
