Everyone that knows her called her Sue. Sue, a woman of fierce love, undeniable strength, and legendary porch-sitting presence, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 77.

Sue was a woman who didn’t mince words and never backed down. She was a true fighter who wasn’t a quitter in any sense of the word. If there was business to be taken care of, you could count on Sue to get on your case until it was done. But beneath her tough, no-nonsense exterior was a heart that loved her family fiercely. Above all else, she only ever wanted the absolute best for the people she held dear.

For many years, Sue served her community as a beloved lunch lady, bringing her trademark spark to school cafeterias. When she wasn’t keeping everyone in line, Sue could be found indulging in her favorite pastimes: mastering complex puzzles, always snacking on her sweets, watching hummingbirds from her favorite spot, and engaging in gambling of any sort. She also thoroughly enjoyed a good, therapeutic complaint about anything and everything. If you ever drove past her house, you were guaranteed to see her sitting on the porch, watching the world go by.

Sue is now reunited with her beloved husband, Jerry Young; her dear son, Tony Young; and her cherished grandson, Tyler Young.

Her legacy of strength and devotion lives on through her surviving children, Terry Young and Tonya Young. She was the incredibly proud and beloved grandma of Trenden Young, Emri Young (Tyler Ford), Jarrett Kehrer, Mariah Young, and Bobby Raith; and the adoring great grandma to Zuri, Hudson, and Kaiden.

She will be deeply missed, but her sharp wit, fierce love, and unforgettable spirit will never be forgotten.
