Joe, 80, passed away March 5, 2018. Joe was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Joe spent his career as an alcoholism counselor and helped many people with their hardships and struggles. He is survived by his son, John Beatty; grandson, Jarod Harlow; sister, Arline (late Fred) Greiner. He is also survived by his step-sons, Christopher Blum, Jeffery Blum, Peter (Ann) Blum and Doug Blum; grandchildren, Brandon Pasion, Corwin Blum, Carly Blum, Mason Blum, Nicholas Blum, Spencer Blum; great grandchildren, Oliver Pasion and Violet Donovan; 4 nieces; 9 nephews and many great nieces, great nephews and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Suzanne Blum Iversen; brother, Thomas (Helene) Iversen and sister, Anne (Edward) Stenborg. The family would like to thank Sally Harlow and Marla Blum for their continued care and support Joe. I’ll never forget the day I was asked to speak about Sue on a UC Campus memorial, and you were there and hugged me in thanks for the tribute. It meant the world to me.
