Johnathan Terrell Burns, age 46, passed away on August 9th, 2026, in Pleasant Plain, Ohio. He was born on January 31st, 1980, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Kim Voltz and the late Johnny Burns. He attended Bethel High School. To say Johnathan was an outdoorsman does not do him justice. There was nothing he loved more than being in the woods with his dog, Moe. He could adapt to any situation, with an uncanny ability to fix things with limited resources. If there was a hobby that he had the slightest interest in, he did it with no hesitation. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person who lived life entirely on his own terms. While many people spend their lives trying to fit others’ expectations, Johnathan broke every mold you could imagine. He didn’t believe in “sitting on the sidelines”. He approached life with a sense of freedom that many admire but few achieve. He could be heard telling his little brother, “Life is as hard as you make it”. If anyone mentioned something they wanted to do, Johnathan would simply reply, “then go do it”. While we mourn our loss, we also celebrate a life lived boldly and unapologetically.
Johnathan was preceded in death by his father Johnny Burns; Grandparents Jack Lee and Barbara (Linville) Burns and Frank and Penny (Needels) Sprague.
He is survived by his mother Kim (Ronald) Voltz, stepmother Linda Burns, son Gage (Cassidi) Augst, Angel Augst, grandson Arlo Augst, brother Nathan (Dana) Burns, sister Jennifer (Dave) Hall, nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Hall, Rylee Jack Burns, Fintan Daniel Dooley, Peggy Ann Burns and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you
