Kimberly Joyce Thompson, 69, of Newport, KY, peacefully entered the presence of her Savior on Monday, November 18, 2024, at St Elizabeth Healthcare Hospice Center surrounded by family.
Born in Cincinnati, OH, Kim was a life-long resident of the Tri-State area and attended Newport High School. She worked tirelessly to raise her family through a variety of roles, eventually retiring from The Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport.
Kimberly was a devout Christian, an avid quilter, and a constant companion to her beloved Yorkie, Jack. She possessed a generous spirit, using her sewing skills as a way to share her love and faith with others.
Kimberly is preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Ervin and father Al (Fannie) Ervin. She is survived by a brother, JR (Cynthia) Ervin of Cincinnati, OH; three sons, Able (Amanda) Ochoa of Alexandria, KY, Matthew Russell of Covington, KY, and William (Lydia) Russell of Maryville, TN; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends too numerous to name.
In observance of her wishes, no public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Smile Train, a charity close to her heart, or St. Jude Hospital.
