Margaret (Peggy) Holden December 13, 1936 - August 31, 2021

Margaret (Peggy) Holden passed away August 31, 2021 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Holden, Sr., her parents, Robert and Mary Gramm and a sister, Mary Ellen Exten. Peggy was born December 13, 1936 and passed away on August 31, 2021.

Peggy is survived by her three sons, John L. Holden, Jr., Keith Holden, Neal Holden (Karen) and two grandchildren.

Other survivors are her brother-in-law Richard Holden (Brenda), sisters-in-law Norma H. Dean (Leo) and Connie Asbury (Taylor).

She leaves many dear nieces and nephews, and friends; including devoted friends Aileen Hendricks and Carolyn Gardner.

Peggy was a native of Alexandria, Virginia, a graduate of Fairfax High School, and she attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.  She was employed by Aetna Casualty and Surety Co. – where she met Norma Holden, the two becoming lifelong friends.  Norma introduced her to “brother John” – the rest is history – a supportive, loving marriage of 55 years ensued.  John and Peggy built their home in West Chester, OH, raised their sons there and enjoyed a life time with the best neighbors in the world.

Peggy wore many hats – a full time parent of three boys; caring for and keeping a meticulous home.  Kind and sensitive, she was always friendly and ready to help others.

She volunteered and worked with the West Chester Library and especially enjoyed her time spent reading with the children.

Active and energetic she loved family and friends, trips to the Tennessee and North Carolina Mountains, boating adventures with John and the boys on Lake Cumberland.

Peggy was a longtime member of Crestview Presbyterian Church, and she was a member of the choir for many years.
