RASSELL

Marvin Joseph Rassell, MD. ACR passed away on February 3, 2013. He was ninety two years of age and is survived by his wife of seventy years, Sylvia Rassell; two children, Jody Rassell and Stuart Rassell; three grandchildren, Sarah Rassell, Aaron Rassell and Dashiell Nathanson. Marvin was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Walnut Hills High School and Miami University and University of Cincinnati Medical School. He Interned at New York City, City Hospital and completed his Residency in Radiology at Hines Hospital in Chicago. He served as a Chief of Radiology in the Army in Korea. He lived with his wife and children in Hamilton, Ohio where he headed the Radiology Department at Mercy Hospital and McCullough Hyde in Oxford, Ohio, and Mercy Fairfield. He was the first radiologist to order and place MRI equipment in the state of Ohio, ordered for Mercy Hamilton. Upon his retirement, Marvin and Sylvia moved to San Diego, California where he lived for twenty four years playing golf, travelling the world, attending political science and policy classes at the University of California, San Diego, and enjoying his family, friends and grandchildren. Marvin and Sylvia moved back to Cincinnati in January of 2013 and Sylvia is residing in Cincinnati at the Kenwood by Senior Star. An avid music lover and reader of literature, politics, current events and mystery stories, Marvin was a great teacher and mentor to his medical colleagues, children and grandchildren. He was a humorous and fun loving character whose family nickname was the “Storyteller” and his stories were told often and will be retold for years to come.
