Born on February 28, 1949, Mike lived a life defined by dedication, strength, and a deep love for his wife Cindy and his family. He was the glue that held his family together, a steady pillar who gave them strength, guidance, and courage.

Mike was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam veteran who honorably served his country and was awarded the Purple Heart and the National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, he devoted 42 years to the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. Known as a strong, hardworking, and straightforward man, Mike was someone you could always count on. He was a true “straight shooter”.  He spoke honestly and never sugarcoated the truth. While his words weren’t always easy to hear, they were always rooted in love and respect—and he earned the respect of everyone around him.

Above all, Mike loved his family. He shared a deep and lasting love with his wife, Cindy Smith, and was a proud father to his son, Michael Jr. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Brittanie and Alex, and his great-grandchildren, Bella, Logan, Myla, Carter, and Rylee, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Mike is also survived by his brothers, Bud and Sam, whom he loved and cherished deeply, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
