Phyllis Elaine Wilson (Phillips) née Gibson, formerly of Newtown, passed away peacefully in the company of her family January 12, 2018. Phyllis was involved in the sewing and upholstery business her whole life. She worked in the family shop, Gibson Awning until her father retired. She then opened her own store, Eastgate Awning, and has served the east side for over 20 years. When Phyllis wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending time with her family and going fishing. She is survived by her children, Sam (Patti) Phillips, Gail Owens, Rick (Karen) Phillips and Cheryl Hayden; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Carol (Jake) Jacobs and Jerry Gibson. She is preceded in death by her sons, Louis, Edward and Danny Phillips. A Celebration of Phyllis’s Life will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the American Legion 484, 1837 Sutton Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230.
