Robert B. Connelly, passed away on May 1, 2022, at the age of 96.
Born October 6, 1925, in Austin, Texas, he was a World War II Naval veteran and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and was a lifelong Longhorn.
Robert was the owner of Connelly Construction Company and built many houses as well as an owner, trainer and breeder of Thoroughbred racehorses in Austin, Texas. In 1971, his passion for horses led him to relocate his family and company from Texas to Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda, his daughter, Terry Jo (Bruce) Waltermire, his son, Bill (Sandy) Connelly, grandchildren, Karen (Mike Dinsmore) Waltermire, Whitney (Dustin) O’Hara, and Dustin (Jessica) St. Clair and four great grandchildren.
He is also survived by stepdaughters Missy (Bill) Haussler and Mindy (Paul) Wendland as well as other family members.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Smith Connelly and sisters Vivienne and Miriam.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Heritage Universalist Unitarian Church, 2710 Newtown Rd, Cincinnati, OH.
