Rosemary Helen Johnston died March 5, 2013 at Hospice care of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood Ky. Born December 24, 1929 in Jackson, Michigan to Donald J Elliott & Eunice M. Elliott both deceased. Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar A Johnston. Survived by sister, Patricia Hoard of Tucson, AZ. She is survived by her children– twins Gherin L Johnston (Sandra) of Swanton, Ohio & Karen L Murray (John) of Hebron, KY, Larry A Johnston (Elizabeth-deceased) of Brooklyn, Michigan.

 

Rosemary is survived by six loving grandchildren:

David A Johnston (Valerie) of Sebastian, FL

Lisa B Johnston of Toledo, Oh

Colleen M Murray of Florence, KY

Brian M Murray (Katy) of Hanscom AFB, Ma

Patricia J Hart (Jamie) of Grass Lake, MI

Jennifer R Cannon of Jackson, MI

 

She is also survived by twelve wonderful great-grandchildren:

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Rosemary was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed camping with her family, spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and shopping. She loved anything farm related, like RFD, TV and watching the wildlife at her son’s farm in Brooklyn, MI. She was an avid sewer, crocheter, knitter & crafter. Her specialty was making pillowcases to match each grandchild’s personality every Christmas. She also was well known for her crocheted kitchen towel toppers. She had quite a green thumb and a flower garden wherever she lived. She was involved in and held many different officer positions in several organizations throughout the years such as PTA; Tops; James E Yenor American Legion Post, Luna Pier, Michigan; Welcome Wagon of Ludington, Michigan; Catholic Daughters; and the Resident Council where she lived at Panorama Plus Apartments in Florence, Ky.

 

Memorial donations are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice program by contacting the: St Elizabeth Healthcare Foundation, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017. * A memorial service will be held in Rives Junction, Michigan on a date to be announced.
