Roy Herald, 89, passed peacefully on September 6, 2021 in Newport, Kentucky. He was born on August 7, 1932 in Talbert, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Allen Herald and Polly Herald (nee Deaton). Roy was married to his beloved wife Patricia Herald (nee Morris) for 65 years, he was a loving father to Stanley (Julie) Herald, Cathy (Late Ted) Abplanolp, Roy (Kim) Herald, Polly (Tim) Partin, Delores Barnes and the late Denise Herald ; brother of Bill (Barb) Herald, Ray (Ulene) Herald, Roberta Sampley, Mima Jane Matracia, and the late Elmer, Merlin, Lester, Luther, Mae, Ida and Johnny. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, over 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Roy worked for General Motors in the relief/cushion room until the planted closed in 1987 and he retired. Funeral services will be held at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home Newport location, 822 York St, on Saturday, September 11th at 3:00 PM, visitation hours will be from 1:00 PM until time of service.
