Sharon Laverne Hornback June 17, 1955 - November 21, 2023

Sharon Laverne Hornback, 68, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her children on November 21, 2023.  Sharon was born June 17, 1955, in Dayton, Kentucky, the eldest daughter of Orville Kenneth Dawes and Mary Frances (Bowen) Dawes.  She graduated Newport High School in 1973.  Sharon married the love of her life, Harvey B. Hornback Jr. on October 8, 1976, who preceded her in death in 2012.

Sharon’s love is carried on by her daughter Shannon Marie Hornback and grandchildren Corey Hornback and Alyson Blanchet; her daughter Nichole Lynn Hornback (John) Hayden and grandchildren Jayden Mayse, Taylor Mayse, Kendall Hayden and James Hayden; son Kenneth Shane Hornback; son Christopher Ryan (Elissa) Hornback and grandchildren Logan Hornback, Lucas Hornback and Liam Hornback.  She was the beloved “bonus” mom and grandma for many others.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who found the most joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was the grand costume creator, loved planning Halloween and craft parties and always up for some adventure whether it be close to home or traveling afar.  Sharon never turned down a request to volunteer and donate to help others.
