Terrence E. “Terry” Kiessling passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 22nd. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Terry had a boisterous personality, full of energy and fun. He attended Marshall University and was a self-taught engineer that spent 33 years working for General Motors. Terry had many hobbies and enjoyed sports, boating, hunting, dancing and tinkering with ‘fix-it’ projects at home or at his farm.
His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends at his farm and cabin in West Virginia. Ever the engineer and builder, he and his family and friends built from ground up the cabin, and multiple barns and lake on the property. Hunting season every fall with friends and family was always a joy, and usually the camaraderie and fun being with those he cared about far more important than the hunt. The fall of 2025 was the first hunting season he missed in 52 years.
Terry was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Hammond Kiessling. He is survived by children Debbie Easter (Ron), Jeannie Kilpatrick (Keith) and Kurt Kiessling (Joann), grandchildren Dana McDermott (Scott), Ryan Easter (Stacie), Eric Kilpatrick (Erin), Tyler Easter (Renee), Hannah Kiessling, Emma Kiessling, Thomas Kiessling and Samuel Kiessling, and great-grandchildren Isaac Endress, Keegan Endress, Landon Easter, Morgan Easter, Avery Easter, Eli Easter, Emmett Easter, Seven Wise and Winter Wise, and many friends including Jan McDaniel and many others.
He will be greatly missed. Per Terry’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held. Donations can be made to the athletic departments at McNicholas High School, St. Xavier High School or the charity of your choice.
