Thomas J. Lang, age 73 was born Sunday, June 29, 1947 to his parents Francis J. Lang and Loraine L. Lang (nee Flick). He passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday January 24, 2021 surrounded with endless love in the hands of his wife and children.
On Saturday, July 22, 1989 he married his beloved best friend Linda L. Lang (nee Van Meter). The two spent 31 loving, devoted, and inseparable years together until his passing. Tom was an affectionate father to Jennifer L. Bruce (nee Lang) and Thomas F. Lang (Aynsley). He was also a caring and extremely proud grandfather of Casey Bruce, Hope Bruce, Ella Lang, and Evan Lang. In addition to immediate family, Tom has many friends; a special place was also reserved in his heart for his late father-in-law Jay Van Meter and dearest friend Mike Brown.
Tom grew up on the West side of Cincinnati and graduated from Elder High School in 1965, joining the United States Army shortly thereafter. Tom served in Vietnam from 1966-1969. He achieved multiple honors including (but not limited to) four Bronze Stars. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
After returning home from his tour in Vietnam, he continued what would be a lifelong career at the United States Post Office (USPS). Early in his profession, he earned his degree at the University of Cincinnati. In addition, he later achieved multiple professional business accreditations from the University of Virginia. Tom dedicated over 40 professional years to the USPS ultimately retiring as the Director of Human Resources.
Tom was preceded in death by: his parents, Francis J. and Loraine L. Lang; sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bill Valentine. Tom is survived by; his wife Linda Lang; sisters Judith (Richard) Schwartz and Jane (Arnold) Gibson: children Jennifer Lang and Tom (Aynsely) Lang; and grandchildren Casey Bruce, Hope Bruce, Ella Lang, and Evan Lang.
To honor his life, the love, and influence he leaves behind, a memorial service will be held on Thursday February 4th at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home located at 5950 Kellogg Ave, Cincinnati Ohio 45230 from 5-7p. On Friday, February 5th, a memorial service will also be held at St. Jerome Church located at 5858 Kellogg Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230 at 10:30a.
In lieu of flowers, Tom would have appreciated donations made in his name to organizations who were of high importance to his life. Veterans of Foreign Wars (vfw.org), American Legion (legion.org), and/or the American Heart Association (heart.org).

Tom was a very close friend to me who I considered to be my big brother. Tom was a remarkable man who showed his love beyond what words can describe. Tom’s wonderful sense of humor brought us many smiles and his compassion and generosity was what made him who he was, an amazing man who I miss very much. With Tom’s passing from this world there is a void, but I know Tom’s spirit will watch over Linda and his family and friends until our journey ends and we reunite on the glorious other side. I am so blessed Tom and I had the opportunity to facilitate some classes together. Although our encounter was brief; Tom will be forever in my memories. Tom was a ray of sunshine in this sometime dark world. He was an angel sent to assist me when I needed help; which I am very thankful. Tom and Linda took time out of their evening to come to make sure the training materials and class was ready; that touched my heart. That showed me just how thoughtful, selfless, and generous they both are. I learned a lot from Tom. Tom will be missed. What a great loss to this world, but a gain in heaven. Thank you, Tom.
