Virginia Hipfel February 22, 1933 - August 29, 2018

Virginia L. Crawford Hipfel, 85, passed away on August 29, 2018. Her life was full of friends, family, pets and meaningful volunteer work. Mrs. Hipfel was an active member of the Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church. She devoted many hours in support of the annual church Christmas Bazaar. A graduate of Withrow High School, he continued her education at The Ohio State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega social sorority and remained an ardent Buckeyes football fan until her passing. Professionally, she worked for many years as a substitute elementary school teacher in Norwood Public Schools. A passionate supporter of education throughout her adult life, she was active member of the P.E.O. sisterhood which is a philanthropic organization that promotes education for women. She volunteered as a foster parent for the Ohio Basset Hound Rescue and lovingly adopted the hounds she fostered. An avid gardener, she enjoyed many happy hours working in her gardens. A voracious reader, especially of historical topics, she spent many hours researcher her Scottish roots.
Mrs. Hipfel was predeceased by her adoring husband, Joseph. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Elizabeth) of Annandale, VA and David (Anna) of Clarion, PA and her brother Claude Crawford of Bonita Springs, FL. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Marguerite (Spall Crawford) Dray and Mr. Claude Crawford.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Hipfel’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, to the Ohio Basset Rescue, PO Box 333, Newtonsville, Ohio, 45158, or to the Peppermint Pig, 8255 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45255.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

It says: “God will wipe out every tear from their eyes,and death will be no more,neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
