Fred Thomas Cholmondeley, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3rd at the age of 92 in Milford, Ohio. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Joyce Marie Cholmondeley (nee Rapp) and his son, Todd Arthur Cholmondeley, who preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his daughter, Sharon Marie Nehls (nee Cholmondeley); her husband, Kenneth Gordon Nehls; his daughter in law, Jill Cholmondeley, his cherished grandchildren, Grace Stubbins (nee Nehls), Jocelyn Nehls, Zachary Nehls, Matthew Cholmondeley, Jason Cholmondeley and great grandson, Zylon Cholmondeley.
Tom will be remembered for his outgoing nature and wry sense of humor. Those who knew him would say that he was a great conversationalist. Though he never read a note of music, his hands and voice knew every song by heart. Without ever reading music, he played the piano and sang by ear, using his God-given gift to fill the church with song. He was a gifted choir singer in earlier years at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church. His voice lifted many in worship and brought comfort and joy to those who heard him. One of the most treasured moments of his life was singing The Lord’s Prayer at his daughter’s wedding.
May his memory be a comfort, and may he rest in peace, forever held in the hearts of those who loved him. A private service for the family will be held on March 7th at Rest Haven. Following the service, friends and all who knew him are invited to gather in remembrance for a Celebration of Life at All Saints Lutheran Church, 445 Craig Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45244, from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
