It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Virginia Day on April 28, 2025, at the age of 90. Mary was born on April 10, 1935 in Hamilton, OH., to Joseph Palladino Sr. and
Ida Betha Maley. Mary married the love of her life and beloved husband, Gerald Fredrick Day on December 6, 1952. Mary was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her two children after Geralds tragic passing in 1957. Mary worked as a manager for Empress Chili in Highland Heights KY for 15 years. After retiring, she spent her time with family, reading romance novels, doing word games, and caring for her elderly parents. In her later years, Mary enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, going to church services, bingo, and spending time with her late sister, Alice. Preceded in joining the Lord: Mother & Father, Joseph and Ida Palladino, her Husband, Gerald Day Sr., her Daughter Deborah Sue Starcher, her Sister, Alice Wagner, and her Brothers, Clifford Palladino, and Henry Palladino. Survived by: Son Gerald Day II., Daughter-in-law Susan Day; Grandchildren Gerald Day III (Jerry), Carl Day, Mary Rice, Angela Day, and Jaime Meadows; sister-in-law, Mary-Ann Palladino; Brother, Joseph Palladino, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, Three Great-Great Grandchildren; and she is survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services are under the direction of Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, 822 York Street, Newport, KY. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM- 12:00PM. Service will be held immediately after on
Thursday, May 1st at 12:00PM. Mary’s final resting place will be at Saint Stephens Cemetery in Fort Thomas, KY following the service.
