Joyce E. Cooper, 84, passed away on May 21, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Walter and June Simpson. Joyce graduated from Anderson High School in 1958. She married Terry Cooper on September 30, 1967, at Cherry Grove United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her lifelong love for dogs, inspired her to become a dog groomer and open her own shop, “Joyce’s Poodle Parlor” before becoming a homemaker.
A small part-time position at the McAlpin’s gift wrap counter led her to a larger position in customer service and human resources. Joyce transitioned from McAlpin’s in Cherry Grove and Eastgate, to Dillard’s, and later, Stop Fire Inc. before retiring in 2001. Joyce enjoyed spoiling her 4 grandsons, singing with the Sweet Adelines Chorus and traveling to Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband Terry Cooper, son Kevin Cooper (Heather), daughter Gayle Neff (Sean), grandsons Mason Cooper (Corwin), Zane Cooper, Austin Cooper and Brady Pipenur.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1pm at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 686 Mount Moriah Drive Cincinnati, Ohio 45245. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to SPCA Cincinnati.

May 30, 2025 at 2:13 pmGayle, Kevin and family,
I first met Joyce when we played handbells together at Cherry Grove UMC where we became fast friends – her always helping me figure out bells! I invited her to Seven Hills Sweet Adelines Chorus, sharing music together in that way. Joyce was such a sweet, loving lady with an infectious laugh. We lost touch over the years, but I will remember her fondly always. Rest in peace, my friend.
