Leon Baker May 25, 1950 - April 15, 2023

Leon Baker, age 72, passed away on April 15, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on May 25, 1950, in Whitley County, Kentucky, to the late Arville Lee Baker and Gladys Baker (Mahan). Leon married Loretta Baker (Young) on August 16, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Leon is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughters Casandra L. Baker-Myers (Walter) and Angela M. Baker-Colyer (Jeffrey); grandchildren Kyra Darby Lee Myers, Briana Myers (Christopher), and Joseph Myers; great grandchildren Elizbeth Barber, Skylar Barber, and Logan Barber; sisters Jolene Dunn (Nick), Connie, Lena, and Karen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Leon was preceded in death by his sister Rossie Lee Kirn (Baker) and his parents.

Leon was a devoted husband, loving father, and family man. He worked as a lineman for New River Electric and was a member of IBEW Local 71 for many years, before retiring in 2015.  Leon and Loretta owned Pholars Café where he made many lifelong friends.

A private gathering will be held on April 20, 2023, at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home-Kellogg.

    My deepest heartfelt sympathies are extended to Loretta and the girls. Leon was warm and gentle soul and always a pleasure to be in his presence. Leon was a friend and Brother. He was a supporter of mine through the IBEW. Leon was a true craftsman and a devout Union tradesman. Those who had the privilege of knowing Leon will miss him. Well done good and faithful servant enter thou unto the joy of the Lord. RIP my friend.

    My condolences,
    My last memory was he and Loretta coming to my High school graduation. Not having seen them since I was a young child, they were gracious enough to celebrate that with me . I’m thankful for that memory .
