Thurma Jean Rasnick April 22, 1952 - July 18, 2023

Thurma Jean Rasnick aka (Jeanie) daughter of Mae Dell Lee passed away July 18, 2023. She was the beloved single mother & leaves behind 3 of 4 surviving children Kimberly Dotson, Tina Rasnick, Jamie Rasnick (our beloved brother that passed away) & Deborah Church. A beloved Grandmother (Granny) to her surviving 11 grandchildren Lindsey Rasnick, Journey Dotson, Justice Dotson, Jaliah Hunter, Rhiannon Rasnick, Christian Reynolds, Cassie Goins, Rodney Goins, Matthew Church, Kristen Moore & Tyler Church. Jeanie also had several great grandchildren. She also has 2 sisters 1 surviving Loretta Kay Stump & Linda Hoffman (passed away). She loved helping her kids & grandkids anytime we called on her. She also loved going to bingo with friends & family & was the life of any party she attended. Her smile lit up the room. She always had a solution for any problem she faced. She survived breast cancer, the loss of her mom (they were best friends) & the loss of her only son Jamie Rasnick. She then raised Jamie’s daughter Lindsey Rasnick for 12 years who continued to carry a special place in her heart. She was a fighter. Not only was she a fighter but she fought every trial life threw at her with love in her heart & a smile on her face. In loving Memory of Jeanie Rasnick beloved, Mother, Granny, Aunt, Sister & friend.

I have a heart filled with memories Momma. We went through so much together. The good & the bad. You have always been there for me. You knew I’d beat addiction. You sacrificed everything to show me love, forgiveness & grace. I’ll never forget all that you did for me when I couldn’t do it for myself. I carry your strength & common sense now. You were so real & authentically yourself. I loved that about you! You lived life unapologetically being you. I pray your legacy of that continues on through me & your loved ones. You were a fighter! Now the fight is over. I know Mamaw & Jamie were waiting on you at Heavens gates! What a glorious day that will be when we get there! Our last conversation was about finding Jesus and how he’s changed my life! You said I’m proud of you & I love you! I will hold onto that conversation and so many more until I see you again sweet Angel. You were my angel on earth for so long & now my angel in Heaven. Watch over us Momma. Rest in Paradise. 💜

Sorry to hear about your mom, Jeanie was my moms sister (Linda) who was funny , I can remember once when she came over to a family party at my brothers house with my mom and had fun together. She is now in Heaven and with peace.

I am a loss for words. I have a lot of good memories when we all got together as a child with all the aunts and cousins especially my cousin Sheila and me driving around her house in her car just in circles or when Sheila cut my sister Kim’s hair real short . I thought mom would die . Now she suffers no more from the heartbreak of losing my brother or losing my grandmother who was her best friend. She stayed strong and did the best she could with what she had. She is suffering no more. I love you mom.
