Rev Carl Howard I, 76 of Newport passed away May 8 at his home. He is the son of Rosie (McIntosh) and Lewis Howard and is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Survived by his loving wife Mary of 58 years, son Phillip (Sandra) Howard, daughters Rosemary (Gary) May, Grace Muldoon and Carlene (Danny) Guilkey, 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Rev Carl and Mary were founders of the West 7th Street 1st Church of God where he ministered since 1968. Visitation will be Wed, May 11 from 5-8pm at the church at 312 W. 7th St in Newport. A second visitation will be Thurs, May 12 from 5-8 pm at the Hollins Matthew-Breathitt Funeral Home in S. Jackson, KY with services at the funeral home on Fri, May 13 at 10am. Burial will be in the Howard Family Cemetery, Cain Creek, Jackson, KY. Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport, serving the family.
